Leo is a boy with a heart full of stars and a head full of questions about space. When a mysterious little ship crash-lands in the woods behind his house, Leo meets Zog, a kind traveler from a faraway planet who needs a friend's help. Their one starlit night becomes the greatest adventure of Leo's life — a story about curiosity, kindness, and the courage to reach for the sky.

In a busy little town, under a blanket of shivering stars, there lived a boy named Leo. He loved space more than anything in the whole wide world. Every single night he pressed his eye to his telescope and imagined grand adventures among the planets and the swirling galaxies.

One clear night, while Leo was counting shooting stars, a dazzling flash streaked across the sky.

Something bright came down with a bump and a thud, landing in the woods just beyond his backyard.

Bursting with curiosity, Leo grabbed his backpack, tucked in a few snacks, snatched up his flashlight, and set off into the trees to investigate.

In a moonlit clearing, Leo spotted a strange, glowing shape, half-buried in the soft ground.

It was a little spaceship, no bigger than a car, with tiny lights winking and blinking all along its shiny sides.

Leo crept closer and gently touched the smooth surface. To his surprise, a hatch swung open — and a friendly voice welcomed him right in.

“Hello there, Earthling! I'm Zog, from the planet Zorlon. My ship has crash-landed, and I could really use your help to fix it.”

Leo nodded without a second thought. “I'll help you, Zog! Just tell me what to do.”

Zog handed Leo a list of all the parts they would need to mend the little ship.

Most of the things looked familiar to Leo from his science projects and his tinkering out in the garage: scraps of metal, tangles of wire, and a few trusty batteries.

All night long Leo and Zog worked side by side, gathering parts and patching the ship together. And while they worked, Zog told Leo stories — of his faraway home, of the wondrous creatures who lived there, and of the enormous galaxies he had sailed across.

By dawn, the little ship was ready to fly. Bubbling with gratitude, Zog invited Leo along for a quick spin around the Earth. Leo's heart fluttered like a moth, dizzy with the thrill of what was coming.

As they lifted into the sky, the Earth grew smaller and smaller below them. Through the round windows, Leo could see endless blue oceans, sprawling green continents, and the thin, shimmering ribbon of air that keeps our planet safe.

After sailing through the stars and the great, dark hush of space, Zog set the ship down softly in the forest clearing. Leo gazed at the familiar trees, and the magic of their adventure still hummed all around him.

“Thank you, Leo. You have been a true friend to me. Here — take this star map as a token of my thanks. It shows the way to Zorlon and to every planet I have ever visited.”

With wide, shining eyes, Leo took the star map and threw his arms around Zog. “Thank you! That was the best adventure of my whole life,” he said, with a warm, sleepy smile.

With a friendly wave, Zog's little ship rose into the sky and slowly melted away among the stars.

His head full of wonders he would never forget, Leo padded home. And he was certain — one day he would journey to the stars again, guided by the map from his friend Zog.

Every night after that, Leo looked up at the sky and dreamed of the marvelous adventures still waiting for him, out in the endless dark and glittering deep of space.
