Deep in the jungle, every day is an adventure — especially when a cheeky little monkey named Mia is around! But one afternoon, her favorite banana almost caused a whole heap of trouble. Luckily, wise old Paco the parrot knows exactly how to chase away germs and keep the giggles going. This bright, bouncy tale shows children why clean hands are a real health superpower.

Deep in the jungle, among tangled vines and flowers in every color you could dream of, lived a cheerful little monkey named Mia. More than anything, she loved to play in the soft sand by the river — building towers, digging holes, and hunting for shiny shells.

One day, after hours of happy playing, Mia reached into her little bag and pulled out a ripe yellow banana. She was just about to take a great big bite when — all of a sudden — a merry voice rang out from a branch high above.

“Hey there, little rascal!” squawked Paco the parrot, bright as a rainbow from beak to tail. “And just what do you think you’re doing?”

“I’m about to eat my banana,” said Mia, blinking up at him. “What’s so surprising about that?” Paco spread his wings wide and cocked his head this way and that.

“Take a look at those paws! They’re covered in sand — and sand is crawling with… germs!” “Ger-whats?” said Mia, puzzled.

“Germs!” Paco announced grandly. “Teeny-tiny creatures, far too small to see. They can spoil your appetite and even give you a rumbly, grumbly tummy ache!”

Mia laughed. “Oh, come on, Paco — I can’t see a single one!” “Sure,” he winked slyly, “and I can’t see you sneaking bananas in the middle of the night either… but I know you do!”

Mia giggled, but she tucked the banana safely away. “All right, then — show me how to do it properly.” Paco hopped closer, folded one wing behind the other, and spoke just like a real teacher.

“Before you eat, you must always wash your hands. First you wet your paws. Then you take the soap and scrub up bubbles for at least twenty whole seconds — that’s about as long as it takes to sing ‘Ha-ha-ha, my banana!’ three times through!”

So Mia belted it out for the whole jungle to hear: “Ha-ha-ha, my banana! Ha-ha-ha, my banana! Ha-ha-ha, my banana!”

“That’s it!” Paco nodded. “Now scrub between your fingers, and don’t forget the tips! Then rinse away every bubble and dry your paws. And only then will your banana become a true feast for your tummy.”

The parrot put on his most serious face and said, “Remember this, Mia! One: always wash before you eat. Two: after playing in sand or dirt. Three: after using the potty. And four: after petting any animals.”

“Follow those four rules, and those pesky germs won’t stand a chance!”

Mia listened closely and copied every move right there by the stream. She scrubbed up such a mountain of bubbles that she gave herself a foamy mustache and burst out laughing.

“Look, Paco — now I’m a bubbly tiger! Rrrroar!” “Ha!” laughed the parrot. “Even tigers need clean paws, you know!”

When Mia had finally rinsed her hands squeaky clean, she settled down under a swaying palm, pulled out her banana, and took a great big, happy bite.

“Mmm, delicious!” she said. “And not a single germ in sight!” “There you go!” said Paco proudly. “Clean hands mean a healthy tummy and a happy little monkey!” From that day on, Mia always washed before eating — and taught all her friends to do the same.

Clean hands are a small habit that keeps big troubles away. Whoever washes their hands before eating protects their health and carries a happy heart every single day.
