Letter to Santa Template: Free Printable to Color
Writing a letter to Santa is one of the sweetest parts of December. Our template helps your child write it on their own, with lines, short prompts and a picture to color at the top. Kids who can't write yet can draw their wishes instead.
The PDF has three pages: the letter to Santa, an envelope to cut out and glue, and a reply letter from Santa that you fill in and leave with the presents on Christmas morning.
What's in the file
Letter to Santa — a template with lines, prompts and a box to draw in.
Envelope to cut out, fold and glue, addressed to Santa, with a spot to draw your own stamp.
Letter from Santa — a reply for your child, with space for their name and a few special words.
How to write a letter to Santa with your child
- Print the file on regular letter or A4 paper. Let your child color the picture first — it's a nice warm-up before writing.
- Read the prompts together. Your child writes their name and age, then something they learned this year, what made them happy and what they wish for. Little ones can tell you and you write it down.
- In the box, your child draws something for Santa: the tree, your home or a present for him.
- Fold the letter, put it in the envelope and leave it by the tree or on the windowsill — or mail it.
- On Christmas morning, leave the reply letter with the presents — fill in your child's name and one thing they can be proud of first.
