One sunny morning, while she wandered through the royal garden, Isabella noticed a small, mysterious door half-hidden behind a thick tangle of roses. Curious, she pushed it open—and there, going down and down, was a narrow winding stair that led deep beneath the earth.

Isabella decided to carry the mirror up to the palace. To honor her discovery, she threw a great feast and invited every soul in the kingdom. All through the celebration, anyone who wished could step up and look into the Mirror of Truth to see who they really were inside.

Word of the magic mirror flew faster than swallows, and soon people came streaming in from every corner of the kingdom. Many longed to see the best of themselves shining back—but some grew nervous, uncertain of what the mirror might show.

First to approach was a wealthy merchant, proud and very sure of himself. But instead of his riches and success, the reflection showed him greed and a habit of dishonest dealings. Ashamed and shaken, the merchant vowed to change—to be generous, and to run his business with honesty and quiet dignity.

Next came a humble farmer. In the glass he saw his own heart, full to the brim with kindness and hard, faithful work. The crowd burst into applause, cheering for the true worth he'd carried all along and everything he meant to the kingdom.

One by one, the people looked into the mirror, and one by one it showed them who they truly were. Some beamed with pride at their finest qualities; others felt a quiet ache at what still needed mending. Princess Isabella urged each of them to take the reflection as a lesson, and to reach for the best version of themselves.

As the feast drew toward its close, a mysterious dark figure stepped up to the mirror. It was Prince Alexander, long vanished and believed lost in a distant battle. In the glass, the mirror showed not only his bravery, but the deep weight of guilt and sorrow he had carried in his heart for years.

Isabella could hardly believe her eyes. In the shadowed stranger she knew her own brother. The princess ran to him, threw her arms around him, and whispered through her tears, “Welcome home, Alexander. Together we will find peace, and heal your heart.”

Alexander told her of his travels and his battles—how for long years he had not dared return, weighed down by guilt and doubting his own worth, and how, seeing in the mirror not only his mistakes but also his courage, he had finally found the strength to come home to his family.

The princess had never once guessed that her kindness and her honest wish to help others would become the very key that brought her brother home. From that day on, Isabella and Alexander ruled the kingdom side by side. Their unity, their kindness, and their courage were an example to everyone who lived there.
