When the woods blaze red and gold, little Ava sets off alone to find the Spirit of Autumn — the wondrous creature the old stories promise can grant a single wish. Deep among the rustling leaves she discovers something even more magical than the legend. A gentle tale about kind hearts, neighbourly love, and the quiet magic hiding in the simplest of days.

In a village tucked among the woods and the rolling hills, autumn was always the sweetest time of the year. The leaves turned red and orange and glowing gold, the crisp air smelled of ripe apples, and everyone counted the days until the Harvest Feast — the brightest, busiest celebration of the whole season.

In that village lived a girl named Ava, and autumn was her very favorite thing in all the world. She could spend whole afternoons tumbling in heaps of colored leaves, gathering juicy apples, and drinking in the painted hills. But most of all, she loved the old, old legend of the Spirit of Autumn.

The story went that the Spirit of Autumn was a magical creature who brushed the forests and gardens with their glowing colors and gave the villagers their rich, generous harvest. And it was whispered that whoever found the Spirit could make one wish — and that wish would surely, truly come true.

So one cool autumn morning, Ava decided to go and find the Spirit of Autumn herself. Into a little bag she packed a tasty snack, a warm blanket, and her most beloved book. With the first rays of the sun she set off toward the forest. The trees arched a bright canopy of fiery color above her, and the ground was a soft carpet of fallen leaves that whispered beneath her feet.

For hours Ava wandered, wide-eyed at the wood's enchanting beauty. As the sun began to slip behind the hills, she came upon a cozy little clearing. Right in its heart stood an enormous oak, and on its branches hung shining acorns that glimmered in the last golden light of the autumn day.

Suddenly, beneath the oak, Ava spotted a tiny, shimmering shape. Her heart fluttered. Holding her breath, she tiptoed closer — and could hardly believe her eyes. It was the Spirit of Autumn! A tiny being with wings like delicate autumn leaves, and hair that glowed a warm and golden shimmer, as though it had been spun from strands of sunlight.
