A crab instead of a hairpin

The crab decided to help and took hold of a strand of hair with its claw — a living hairpin. The mermaid is watching it out of the corner of her eye and saying nothing so far: it does hold very firmly.

Make the crab red or orange — it is the star here. Keep the hair light so the crab shows. The big scales on the tail are made for long, unhurried coloring.
