Hedgehog sleeping in leaves

Hedgehogs sleep through the winter, and this little one has already started. It lay down on its back, tucked itself in under a blanket of leaves, and is smiling in its sleep. One more leaf is falling from the tree, just in time to keep it extra warm.

The leaf blanket can be really colorful, with every leaf a different fall shade. The hedgehog is gray-brown with a light belly, and the acorn brown with a dark cap. A nice page for winding down before bed, for kids ages 4 and up.
