Dragon knitting a very long scarf

The dragon is knitting itself a scarf. Its neck is long, so the scarf has to be long — and it is already so long that it lies in coils all over the ground, and the dragon is still going. There does not seem to be an obvious place to stop.

The scarf is the main event: stripe it in different colors along its whole length, which will take a while. Leave the needles pale. Keep the dragon calm so the scarf stays brightest.
