Delete your data
Marytale, by Pixagen Apps · Last updated 2 October 2026
Marytale has no accounts and no sign-in. We never learn your name, your email address or your child’s. The only thing that connects the reading progress on our side to a particular phone is a random code the app creates for itself the first time a story is opened.
That code is why the steps below matter: it is the only way we can find what to erase.
How to ask us to delete it
- Open Marytale on the phone the child reads on.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Write to us. A parental gate appears first: it shows three digits spelled out in words, and you tap them in that order.
- Your mail app opens with a message already addressed to us. It ends with a line reading “Reader ID” followed by the random code. Please do not delete that line — without it we cannot tell which records are yours.
- Write “please delete my data” above it and send.
We erase the records within 30 days and reply when it is done. If your mail app is not set up, write to support@pixagen.io from any address — but we will then have to ask you for the code, because there is no other way for us to find the right records.
What gets deleted
- Reading progress — how many stories and pages were read, the current and longest streak, the days read, and any rewards earned.
- The random code itself, so nothing can be linked back to the phone afterwards.
- The record of screens and reading tied to that code (which screens were reached, which stories were opened and finished). It is also deleted automatically after 90 days.
- The link to the subscription record held by our subscription provider, so the code can no longer be matched to it.
Text corrections you sent us about a typo in a story carry no code at all, so they cannot be found or withdrawn individually; they contain only the suggested wording.
What is kept, and for how long
- Counters on the stories themselves — how many times a story has been read or saved across everyone. These carry no code and no identifier of any kind, so there is nothing in them to connect to you. They are kept indefinitely.
- Onboarding answers (age range, chosen themes, language) and crash reports. These are written without any code at all — not even a random one — so they cannot be traced to a phone or to each other. Kept for up to 24 months, then removed.
- Purchase records, for as long as tax and accounting law requires them to be kept. These are held by Google Play and by our subscription provider; we see only that a subscription exists, never a card number, name or address.
The faster way, without writing to us
Deleting the app removes everything stored on the phone, the random code included. After that, the reading progress left on our side can no longer be linked to anyone or retrieved by anyone, ourselves included.
One exception on Android: if the phone’s own backup is switched on, the code is part of that backup, so reinstalling the app restores the same code and the same progress. Turning the backup off, or removing Marytale from it in the phone’s settings, stops that.
Everything else about what Marytale stores is in the privacy policy. Questions go to support@pixagen.io.
